Cookies on 4cuatro.ai

Our website sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser, which is why you see no cookie banner. Below we explain how we count visits without cookies, and the two things outside our own code: the Vimeo video and our hosting provider's security check.

Does 4cuatro.ai use cookies?

No. The website's own code sets no cookies and uses no other browser storage, such as local storage or session storage. There are no advertising cookies, no social media buttons that track you and no third-party analytics such as Google Analytics.

The fonts, images and 3D story are served from our own server. Your browser does not contact any third party while you read the site, unless you choose to play the video.

How do you count visitors without cookies?

When a page opens, it sends a small message to our own server with the page address and, on the first page you open, the website you came from, if any. The server then:

  • adds one to the day's counter for that page;
  • keeps the name of the linking website (for example google.com), not the full address;
  • makes a one-way code from your IP address and your browser type and device class, using a key that is replaced every day. The code is used only to count unique visitors per day. Once the day's key is deleted, the code cannot be linked to you or to visits on other days.

Nothing is stored in your browser, and automated browsers are not counted. The counters are kept for about 400 days. More detail is in our privacy policy.

What happens when I play the video?

The product video is hosted by Vimeo. Until you click play, the page shows a still image and nothing is loaded from Vimeo. When you click play, your browser loads the Vimeo player. We load it with Vimeo's "do not track" setting, which asks Vimeo not to track the session, including with cookies. Like any website you connect to, Vimeo receives your IP address and information about your browser, and Vimeo's own privacy and cookie policies apply.

Can our hosting provider set a cookie?

Our hosting provider protects the server with a firewall. If one connection sends a large number of requests in a short time, the firewall can show a brief "One moment, please" check before the page loads. The check is run by the hosting provider to keep automated traffic from overloading the site, and it may store a short-lived technical cookie in your browser to remember that the check was passed. It is a security measure, not tracking, and ordinary browsing should not trigger it.

What about cookies from the old version of the site?

The previous version of 4cuatro.ai set a PHP session cookie, a language cookie (homai_lang) and a visit cookie (homai_vd), and installed an offline copy of the site in your browser (a service worker). The current site sets none of these.

  • The old offline copy is removed automatically when you visit the site again.
  • Old cookies may stay in your browser until they expire. You can delete them in your browser settings at any time.
  • If a page from the old site that is still open or cached sends a form, our server reads the old language cookie only to answer in the language you used.

How can I control cookies?

All common browsers let you see, block and delete cookies and other site data in their settings, and private or incognito windows discard them when you close the window. Blocking cookies does not affect how our own pages work.
